Memorial Quilts, Pillows & Ornaments

When a loved one passes away, it is very emotional. Often, they had special clothing that was meaningful to them that families do not want to donate. I take this clothing and turn it into memory quilts, pillows, and/or ornaments. I hope that through this, people can feel their loved ones giving them a hug as they wrap up in the quilts, hug their pillows or display their ornaments.

Memorial quilts and pillows are priced the same as general T-shirt quilts or pillows. Sometimes if there are items that take more work to get them into the quilt, they might incur a $5 extra charge. I will tell you this at the consultation once I see the items.

When gathering items, think beyond the standard T-shirt. Pajamas, jeans, ties, work shirts, hats, jackets, etc. can all be used. If you can wash it, sew it, and make it to lie flat then it can usually go in the quilt. It does not have to have a logo. Think about prints, plaids, distinct colors, and anything that helps you remember your loved one.

I can also split items among family members. For instance, if a shirt has a small front logo and a large back logo, one person may get the front for their quilt and someone else can get the back.

I have ways to stretch and condense what you have so don't worry about the count of items so much as think about what layouts you like and gather plenty of choices. I can help sort through at the planning meeting.
