About Beth Sullivan

I have been making T-shirt quilts for over 25 years. To date, I have made over 1000 quilts, hundreds of pillows, and many hundreds of memorial ornaments. In addition to making these special items for customers, I lecture for quilt guilds and teach classes in the use of interesting materials in quilts. I like to say that if it can be washed, sewn, and made to lie flat, it can go in a quilt! I am also an instructor at Creative Spark Online Learning where I publish video courses on making T-shirt quilts and pillows if you want to try this yourself. Recently, I purchased a computerized longarm quilting machine and have started longarm quilting for customers.

I live in Bellingham, Massachusetts with my husband and three children. I am a rom-com audiobook addict and used to love crocheting until I found quilting. In 1999, I was teaching First Grade and took a beginner quilting course at the local community education group. I was hooked. For my fourth quilt I made myself a T-shirt quilt and when people saw it, they started asking if I would consider making one for them. In 2003, I left teaching to stay home with my daughter and the part-time business was created. Eventually, my kids were all in school and I went full-time with the business. I love that something I create is so meaningful to my customers.

I began teaching quilting classes about 20 years ago and lecturing for guilds about 10 years ago. I lecture and teach in person as well as on Zoom. In 2023 I published my first video course with C&T Publishing and have now finished four courses in the USA for them as well as one course in the UK. Recently, I had the privilege of participating as a featured instructor in one of their live events.

Now that my kids are all in college, I have added an Innova computerized quilting machine to my business and have started digital edge-to-edge longarm quilting for quilters.
